There Is No “Late”: What Waiting for My Son Is Teaching Me About Timing, Surrender, and Peace
Dec 04, 2025
Three days past his “due date,” I’ve realized something surprising:
I’m not anxious.
I’m not frustrated.
I’m not pacing the house or begging the universe to “hurry up already.”
Instead, I’m experiencing something most people don’t associate with week 40 of pregnancy…
Peace.
Not passive, checked-out peace,
but deep, grounded, embodied peace.
The kind that comes from knowing that life unfolds
exactly, precisely, beautifully
on time.
Even when it looks late to everyone else.
The World Loves a Timeline, But Life Doesn’t Follow One
If you’ve ever been pregnant, you know how loud the outside world becomes:
“Is he coming yet?”
“Wow… he’s late!”
“You must be nervous!”
“I can’t wait; tell him to come out already!”
People mean well, but their questions all orbit the same assumption:
That there is such a thing as “late.”
But in these quiet days of waiting, here’s the truth that has landed in me:
Late is an illusion.
It exists only inside a timeline humans created
a mental construct,
a comparison,
a measurement against some imaginary standard of where we “should” be by now.
But spiritually?
Energetically?
Universally?
There is no “should.”
There is no “by now.”
There is only unfolding.
Birth is not a deadline.
Miracles don’t honor calendars.
Babies don’t read due dates.
They come when soul, body, and identity align
right on time, every time.
You’re Never Late. You’re Becoming
One of Neville Goddard’s teachings has been a steady whisper in my heart:
“You’re never late; you’re only arriving into the state you’re assuming.”
That has hit me in a different way these past few days.
Because waiting isn’t a delay.
Waiting is a becoming.
Reality reorganizes only when identity does.
Nothing manifests before we become the version of ourselves capable of receiving it,
and that includes motherhood, dreams, healing, expansion, relationships, purpose.
Delay is never real.
Only our perception of misalignment creates the feeling of waiting.
And when we stop gripping for outcomes…
when we stop arguing with timing…
when we stop believing the lie that we’re behind…
peace becomes possible.
If You’re Waiting for Something Too…
Maybe your journey has been marked by loss.
Maybe you’ve been longing for a baby for years.
Maybe you’re waiting to feel the first kicks and someone has said, “You should’ve felt them by now.”
Maybe you’re trying to manifest something completely unrelated to motherhood... a relationship, a career shift, a dream you’ve been afraid to claim.
Whatever your version of “late” is…
I want to invite you into the same realization I’m living:
You are not behind.
Life is not delayed.
Nothing is off-course.
Anxious energy doesn’t speed things up;
it only makes the journey harsher.
When you soften, life softens back.
When you settle into what is, the next step reveals itself.
When you stop resisting the moment,
the moment becomes peaceful.
Presence is where alignment lives.
Presence is where revelation happens.
Presence is where miracles finally land.
Right On Time
So here we are…
waiting, yes,
but not in tension.
We’re settling,
allowing,
trusting,
and receiving him in perfect timing.
He will come when he comes.
And that moment, that breath, that arrival, will be right on time.
It always is.
It always has been.
It always will be.
Life is never late.
You are never late.
And neither is he.
With love, peace, and trust in perfect timing,
Shannon
